Current favourite is the Duratec line from Ford. Specifically the 2.0 and 2.3. Bulletproof, high revving (8K), torquey, and very easily modded. Did I say bulletproof? ‘Cause bulletproof.

TFSI pretty much reliable if taken care correctly, if modified it can go 400➕ hp see the leon cupra lambo killer

I opt for the 4age 20v blacktop. Its inside the 20 year mark as the last 4age engine made, and its almost indestructible. I can squeeze 10000 rpms from that thing.
