Driving A Tatty Old E30 BMW 3-Series Up A Mountain Looks Stupidly Fun

The guys from Drive stuck a set of chunky off-road tyres on a BMW E30 325i, to see if it'd be able to make it up Wheeler Pass in Nevada

That was pretty good tire commercial - but that didn’t impress me. I’ve been driving in much harder routes with my ex ‘69 VW Beetle with some random Firestone vintage tires. Of course beetle is a rear engined car but still the point is if you just have a car which isn’t too low, it really is more about driver than car or tires how you manage in such conditions like in the video.

Still, I have to admit that the landscape was pretty.
