This 4K Textures Mod For GTA V Is Stunningly Realistic

You really do have to study these images for a moment to see that they are in fact not real. Yep, they’re all GTA V screen grabs, but with a difference: this is what the game looks like after a mod called “The Pinnacle of V” - built by Josh Romito - is installed.

Actually, the word ‘mod’ doesn’t really adequately cover the changes, which are extensive. On the graphics alone, all of the different weather settings have been completely re-done, puddles are now said to be ‘photorealistic’, the particle effects edited, reflections improved, 4K textures added and a hell of a lot more.

It goes further than just the graphics, too: all weapon audio has been replaced, the population of Los Santos boosted in key areas, the vehicle handling reworked and in-game ‘relationships’ edited to make the city seem more vibrant and interesting. Hell, even the guns now have realistic recoil, plus proper muzzle flash effects. This is just scratching the surface of the full list of features, which you can see here.

Make sure you head over to Pinnacle of V’s website to check out the full gallery, and - if you have a copy of GTA V for PC - download the mod.

It barely looks better than Driveclub and the rain effect is awful. Also you’d have to spend at least £3000 to get a rig powerful enough to run it well, if it even runs properly. Doubt a mod that extensive will be stable.

Just wait until these games are on our translucent smartphones. OR the world ends and you have video games, others have guns :p

AMD FX8350 + Sapphire R9 390 + 16gb ram… u think it’ll run smooth over 3 monitors in eyefinity?

That CPU will bottleneck, definitely not in 4K, the R9 390 is more of a 1080p and 1440p card.

Thankfully I have a 4k Monitor, so I’ll give this a go although I don’t play games much overall!
