For the most complete new Porsche 911 experience, you’ll likely want the S/T. With a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, it’s arguably the purest of the 992s. What if that’s just not quite pure enough, though? Theon Design may well have the thing for you.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Theon Design is much like Singer - reimaging classic Porsches with fresh tech yet without compromising on what makes them so good in the first place.

Its latest creation is this 964. With its 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated, air-cooled flat-six producing 406bhp and 326lb ft of torque, the headline figures may not seem revolutionary, but that engine is powering a 911 with a full carbon fibre body.

With all fluids on board, the whole car tips the scales at 1,169kg - 200kg lighter than the factory 964 Carrera 2 on which this car is based - resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 347bhp per tonne.

That grunt is sent to the rear wheels through a new Hewland six-speed gearbox with a single-mass flywheel, and delivery is managed by a Torsen limited-slip differential. Additionally, there’s a fresh set of five-stage adaptive dampers.

This car will be going to Theon’s second UK-based customer and has been painted in a rather pretty oak green metallic while also being treated to a set of 18-inch Fuchs-style wheels, as any good Porsche restomod should have.

Along with the rather special cream leather upholstery with Alcantara inserts, interior upgrades include a set of new Recaro seats and a Nardi deep-dish steering wheel.

No word on how much this exact 964 cost its UK buyer, presumably ‘a lot’. If you’re looking for a commission of your own, Theon’s services start at £380,000 - and that’s excluding the donor car, shipping and taxes.
