Well.... I'm 17 and I got a 1986 FERD F-250 with a 4.9L 4 speed. 2006 Ford Crown Victoria. And a 69-72 mix Chevy/gmc.

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the 4wd is not smooth at all. I have two of these trucks, mine unfortunately is having 4wd problems. My dads truck (same year, same make and model) does not have this problem. I was driving on the highway around 40mph, and was in 4 high. The reason for this was there was a lot of snow and ice. When i was driving the front of the truck was riding really rough. The steering wheel jerked and rumbled even felt like i had a flat. Also it does not turn in 4wd, it locks up and won’t move. My first assumption would be the splines of the axle to the diff. With that the transfer case also shift rough from auto 4wd to 4 high. The truck does not shake or ride rough in 2wd, and once the auto 4wd kicks in on one wheel it does not disengage. The rear of the truck rides fine.
