Turkish young car enthousiast who lives in the Netherlands.
20th November 2015
My dad’s car stalled twice in a row today (quite badly),and now suddenly the turbo started fluttering.
The car in question is a 2008 Ford Focus 1.8TDCI wagon. I read about turbo flutter, and it’s apparently not very harmful, but my dad is very stressed out about this. I don’t know if this car has a BOV from factory,so I don’t know if that’s the issue. Do any of you know how to stop the turbo fluttering? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’m going to buy my first car in about 1.5 years, with a max budget of 2500€ for the car, 2k€ for mods and I really need your help to choose one.
I want to make sort of a sleeper with around 250-300hp , that gets at least 25mpg if you’re nice to it, has at least 4 seats, has a big boot/trunk and is easy to work on.
Preferably something euro or jdm (can’t pay the stupidly high fuel prices and road taxes of the Netherlands for a muscle car).
Some ideas of my own:
Renault clio mk2 rs + turbo kit (not as practical)
Skoda Octavia + turbo upgrade (practical, but high road tax)
Audi A3 1.8 20vt+ turbo upgrade (not as practical)
How do you get as much hp as possible from your engine without boosting?
Which parts do you need?
(I’m new to tuning)
