How good is stock toyota ifs with maybe some spacers on the ball joints or something? I am thinking about long travel but I want to know the true limits of my ifs without me going out and destroying it. So does anyone here have experience with long travel? Is it worth it?
My timing chain guides broke today on my way to work, making lots of noise. We had to tow the truck to a shop, and set up the work. We’ve already bought the parts anyways. Sadly I start school Tuesday, and my truck won’t be ready.
So today I got to work, 25 minutes from home and at a light my truck sounded weird. I pulled into the lot at my job and got out to listen, sending a video to a friend who had the exact same truck, year and all. He stated it was the timing chain guides being broken, and I’m lucky I caught it now, before it came out of time. Now the advice part. How hard is it to change the timing chain parts? We’re gonna replace all of it and do my valves adjustment… Specs and advice please!!!!
