I’m looking to buy a polo GTI but I’m just wondering if the engine is as bad as everyone seems to make out? What are your experiences? Thanks

Right so I currently own a 1.2 2010 polo, which I love but it’s just too slow 😭, I’ve been driving a year and I’m looking to upgrade in December. I’ve looked at the 1.4GTI Polo but apparently it gives loads of faults? Other than that I’m pretty much stuck( I don’t like the Abarth or Mini Cooper S) I’m looking for something easy to mod, cheap ( relatively ) for insurance and something quick! Price bracket around 10K, any help appreciated

So I’ve been driving a year now, and coming up to Christmas I want to upgrade to a fast, preferably a hatchback, good looking car that’s easy to mod around the 10K price bracket (+ insurance ) what suggestions do you guys have? I’ve looked at the 1.4 GTI polo which I like but have heard the engine is very problematic, don’t like the mini or Abarth’s aesthetics… Help needed 😂😭🚗

Looking to buy a 1.4 Polo GTI which has 180 standard bhp but am looking to remap it and change the exhaust, I also want to lower it ( not slam it though ) and black it all out… Need lists of things to do to it as well, if you have any suggestions or whatever leave me a comment :)
