Continue with FacebookThe whole community was very upset that EA is deciding to not include a manual transmission driving experience in the 2015 reboot of Need for Speed, as this will not settle with the car community. This game is automatically “red-flagged” by any real car enthusiast, let me ask you how many Automatic-transmission cars do you see drifting in formula drift, how many do you see racing on the circuits? My point exactly, only thing auto is good for is high-horse power drag cars, street cars that want to race from a dig or just that affordable “A-B car. This limited option is suffocating the fun that this game could offer! Look we know NFS is no racing simulator (we get that) but for the real enthusiasts, we aren’t looking for one when it comes to NFS. We are just trying to revisit a childhood friend, reminisce in the memories that NFS made when we were kids. Look at Forza as that tiring full-time job, and NFS is that well needed vacation. We are just trying to escape back to NFS and take a break. I miss and liked the arcade racing experience that NFS delivered when I was a kid but having a auto-transmission only option takes out a lot of the challenge and fun. Now all you do is: press the button for acceleration, steer out of the way of vehicles and obstacles, apply the brake when needed, and monitor the “arcadey” physics applied to the car, simple. I like having to monitor my RPMs, shifting gears, risking the whole race just because I shifted late or didn’t shift at the right time. EA needs to know they’re literally forcing this option upon us, and unfortunately I will be excluding myself from the experience of this game. This just isn’t the NFS I grew up with.
