It’s got 2 seats, 200bhp and it’s front wheel drive
I’m looking for a new (used) car but can’t decide. Please help! I already have a focus ST wagon so I’ve got the big car covered. I want a 2 seat convertible auto under 10k to commute in roughly 60 miles a day. Must have less than 50k miles. My options are:
Mercedes SLK 200
Good fuel economy but no space. A little subdued but comfy. Wafty. Good place to sit plus I can get one with Bluetooth without messing with the stock audio. Which is also good with the bose package. We’ll under budget at around 40k miles.
Audi TT 1.8T
Early model under budget with low miles. Loads of space for stuff. Can carry a car seat in the back. Not as much fun but definitely the practical option that will make my life easier and will probably go the distance. Cheaper to maintain than anything else on the list. Later S line 2L 200bhp models also an option at the top end of the budget with slightly above target miles but costs raised all around.
Porshe boxter
Expensive but wouldn’t you like to own a Porshe. I mean come on! Don’t try and hide it. Some say it’s even sharper to drive than a 911 of the same era. 270bhp. Really well balanced car. Also reasonably practical. Early models around under budget. Over budget slightly for something really nice but it’s going to be a b*tch on the wallet long term.
BMW Z4 M
If I’m going over budget for something crazy this is the one. Don’t try and tell me otherwise. 350BHP. Rear wheel drive. Fun. Over target milage at but available around £12000 for just over 50k miles.
