Zenos Cars Isn't Dead Yet, Because AC Cars Has Stepped In

Zenos Cars Isn't Dead Yet, Because AC Cars Has Stepped In

We thought Zenos Cars had died a sad death after bosses revealed last year that production costs were too high to be sustainable, but the left-field firm might be about to do a Lazarus and come back from the grave.

AC Cars has stepped in with a consortium of other buyers whose identities have been kept secret. AC has bought everything that was owned by Zenos, including 10 new models and the Norfolk factory, but the figures are strictly confidential. The good news might not last long for the factory personnel, though. Autocar reports that the idea may be for Zenos’s facilities to be combined with AC’s South African factory to build more cars for less money, potentially stabilising the future of both brands.

Zenos Cars Isn't Dead Yet, Because AC Cars Has Stepped In

AC Cars’ owner, Alan Lubinsky, told the British magazine that he’s a big fan of the Zenos E10, calling it a “fantastic and well-developed car.”

The consortium will apparently spend the next few months evaluating the brand’s assets and making decisions on what pieces will be kept active, and how. They will consider other model options, like a coupe and more refined GT-type efforts.

Lubinsky is confident in the E10’s engineering and says that he can see it spawning other models in the medium term, adding that “we will continue with the current car and, in parallel, we will consider other cars.”

No no no no no no. Carroll Shelby bought AC bodies and reengineered them with a Ford V8. AC Bristol had nothing to do with the finished product Cobras.

Zenos have the perfect formula for cars
Lightweight, simple, manual, yet advanced - (recycled) carbon tub, great design etc
And all at a price which is cheaper than Lotus or most other competitors
What more do you want
