Starter relay on the SV650 went out, and dissembling the body panel or two to access to relay to jump across the terminals isn’t exactly fun. Less fun on the side of a busy street during a traffic rush. A simpler solution? Wire in a doorbell switch from everyone’s favorite home improvement shop.
Can my bike now be turned over without the key? Yes.
Does that make it more stealable? Maybe.
Is the replacement relay coming in the mail tomorrow? Sure is.
Can I wait until then to go riding? Of course not!
Really, the only thing I messed up with on this installation is forgetting to install the actual bell.
