E46 BMW 330CI LOSS OF POWER & ACCELERATION.
Hi all,
I bought a e46 BMW 330ci model 2001 one week before and there was an excessive leakage of coolant from the heater inlet pipe which was in worst condition you can see in the pictures. I went to mechanic yesterday to change this with new one which I already purchased so they removed approximately all the intake manifold to replace the pipe as this pipe is under manifold. After changing of pipe and fixing the manifold back When i came out from workshop I’m feeling my car loses the power and acceleration which was it having before. I am so much worried about this issue my car was very powerful before kindly help me to get back my car back in power and acceleration.
Thanks

Maybe the Wire to the throttlebody is not tight, so it cannot fully open when given full throttle.
Sometimes it the simpel things and sometimes its not ;-)
Saturday i will go to mechanic again and discuss your opinion with them hope it will be the solution to it. thanks sir
While you have pieces of the cooling system pulled out, just replace the whole thing. Normally something major goes wrong with it in the first 125k miles
Any suggestion or solution ?
Usually it’s best to minimize the variables you are considering with troubleshooting like this. Basically what I mean by that is that there’s a higher chance something the mechanic touched created the issue, not demeaning him as a mechanic, we all make mistakes; but sh*t happens and mechanics are human.
Otherwise, it’s not uncommon for something totally different to go wrong and the timing would be a coincidence.
I don’t remember how extensive the bmw specific obd programs are on the e46, but there might be some hidden codes or even just pending standard obd2 codes saved.
Checked with mechanic he took a ride and said its really lacking the power at low rev so they gave me this to add in a fuel tank to clean the injectors. Will it help?
