Racing gamers have some new historic and modern endurance racing machinery to try out, with several new cars being added to Assetto Corsa on PC.

The first two cars are part of the new v1.13 update available on Steam, alongside general game improvements, and the brilliant additions are completely free. There’s no sign of whether they’ll be brought to consoles, though.

First up is the iconic Mazda 787B endurance racer, winner of the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans and one of the most well-known cars from the Group C era – in its orange and green livery too!

It’s not the only Mazda that’s free with the update though, as you’ll also get the first-generation MX-5 – the famous little sports car with agile handling and tiny dimensions.

The v1.13 update is finally here, but there’s also an addition to the Porsche Pack Volume 3 – owners of it will now get the brand-new Porsche 911 RSR 2017 for free.

So, gamers can now get behind the (virtual) wheel of Porsche’s mid-engined GT car in Assetto Corsa with no extra charge if they have already purchased the pack.

A nice little bonus and some great additions to the game.

Yeah, but the thing is that Assetto Corsa is actually a simulator.

Assetto has a simulation gameplay that Forza definitely doesn’t have.

Yeah well, I bought a logitech g27 with the game and I’m now unable to play because of the updates (apparently both windows and AC). I frankly don’t to plow myself into programmed obsolescence street to buy the g29.

If you’re on Windows ten it’s a problem with the logitech game profiler. Logitech say it’s a lack of Windows support for the g25 or g27. You can kind of get around the problem by installing an old version of the profiler (version 5 I think) and disabling updates but this only seems to work for a while. Do what I did and go back to Windows 7, it’s lovely….

You need the old profiler, version 5.10, uninstall all versions and then reinstall that one :)
