Not that I condone breaking the law, but hypothetically, the #perfectgetawaycar is a Dodge Charger 5.7 Hemi Pursuit (aka the police version)

“It’s got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks”, like the ‘74 Dodge Monaco from the Blues Brothers, so it’s fast, handles well, and is durable enough to take shortcuts, like jumping over kerbs (or shopping malls, just joking), or nudge pursuing police cars without breaking things. It also has 370hp, so it can outrun those Ford Police Interceptor Utilities (aka police Explorers). It also has better brakes than civilian Chargers. Another advantage is the fact that the police Charger are available with 4WD (marketed by Dodge as AWD) which would be good if it’s snowing, and they are also available with bullet-proof door panels, which can take hits from a .44 Magnum.

Being a heavy car, performing a PIT manoeuvre against it would be more difficult and less likely to succeed compared to a lighter car like a BMW 340i.

Another advantage is that it can blend in anywhere. Sure, an Audi S6 is subtle, but if you drove that into a poorer area, it would stick out like a sore thumb. A police car blends in anywhere, any time.

Ex-police Chargers can be bought for around 25k USD, and the sirens and blue strobe lights would have been removed. But you can buy these from eBay (to put behind the grille and windscreen, not a full lightbar), and if you’re stupid enough to rob a bank or something, you will probably want these.

Well you know the old saying: the best place to hide is in plain sight. But I though it was AWD, not 4WD.

They call it AWD, but it is one of those temporary 4wd systems which only drive all 4 wheels while you’re sliding, like in a Golf R or Taurus SHO, except in the Charger, it sends the torque to the rear wheels normally, instead of the fronts.

I thought all the armor plating was removed when they go up for auction.

I’ve seen some for sale with the armoured door panels.

The Hellcat’s cool, but in a town or city, you won’t be able to use all that power, and if you tried bouncing over curbs, you’d destroy the suspension and take out the oil pan. And if the radiator was to be broken, the Hellcat engine would overheat much quicker.

It’s cool, but using it outside Canada or USA will instantly noticed by everyone else.

True. In Europe, the best car would probably be a BMW 535d E60, because it’s fast, agile, and is now old and cheap enough to be reasonably common in poorer areas (where it can therefore blend in), but still looks enough like a modern luxury car to blend into wealthier areas.

And unlike the E60 M5, they won’t be able to follow its sound like breadcrumbs.
