Aero is aero, it doesn’t matter which wheels are driven. However, FWD cars are much more likely to have a forward weight distribution, which can affect the optimal aero balance.

Just make sure you dont buy one purely for aesthetics, check that it’s been wind tunnel tested.

Okay, so for the most part, a front splitter is a purely aesthetic part. Yes, race teams use them and they work, but those are purpose built and carefully designed. Buying an Ebay one for a VW isn’t going to affect aero/handling on your car at all. As to directly answer your question, aero needs to be fairly balanced front to back, however the specifics are different from car to car
