1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z28
Purchased this gem in 2012 for $250. No that is not a typo, i literally got this car for $250 because the previous owner wanted it out of his garage to make room for his new car.
The previous owner had it garage kept and hardly driven, on ran the engine, from 1990-2010. He drove it to work in Baltimore a few times and it had been broken into (that’s why there is painters tape over the driver lock). Whoever broke into it gouged the door with a screwdriver and never successfully stole the car. He had done some work on the car after that and could not get it running. Me and my dad brought it home and had it running within 15 minutes. All it took was putting the first cylinder at TDC and tightening the distributed cap down(which he hadn’t done). The car had 50k original miles on it when I got it, and only had about 57k on it at the time I sold it. Unfortunately it had to be sold to help with debts and has moved on to an excellent third owner. It is now a 600hp supercharged drag strip eater.
The car had the 305 with a 5 speed standard trans. I got a lot of looks when driving this for my first car, and even more when parking at my high school parking lot before school. People talk a lot of trash on these cars but it was by far one of my favorite vehicles I have been able to drive on a regular basis.
Also, ignore the trailer hitch. He had used the car to pull a small bass boat for about a year or so and said he absolutely regretted having the hitch put on permanently.
The car came with literally a truck bed and trunk full of extra parts ranging from an extra carb, set of headers, mufflers to all the replacement decals and even the lock to fix the driver door. These pictures are from the day we brought it home.

Woah. I love the IROC-Z! Sick, dude.
Love this car, would love to drive one one day.
It reminds me of the car Jeremy Clarkson put a cow on the roof of. Same colour I swear

I see…
My neighbor has one too. It’s all rust though. Very cool!
Yea this car had zero rust and the only defects when we went to pick it up were the faded front and rear bumpers due to the sun hitting them when the garage door was open.
We scratched the hell out of the front lip though loading it onto the trailer due to having to push it.
Usually IROCS have an extra zero or 2 compared to your price tag. That car is literally a steal
Yea when we talked to him we thought his ad had a typo in it. When he said nope $250 me and my dad went to the ATM and then to his house.
IROC Z for first car? Thats something.
Went from sharing the minivan with mom, to this
