My Golf mk5 1.9 TDI is acting up again.

I was just driving about normally yesterday, engine at operating temperature, no problems (apart from the exhaust leak lel), no lights, it’s just fine.
I was accelerating in second and after shifting into third at ~3000rpm, I floored it right after letting the clutch go, expecting the normal pull from my enormous 104hp.. And then.. Nothing.

Pedal on the floor, no problems, didn’t miss the gear, but nothing happened, as if my injectos got turned off or the clutch was still engaged (except it didn’t rev).

Somebody else know about this problem? It happened again a few minutes later, but the throttle response was just really slow this time around.

It's N8 M8

It could possibly be a throttle position sensor. It tells the computer how much air you’re getting in and how much fuel to put in. If it stalls every now and then, or is close to at times. If definitely say that’s it

The only time it nearly stalls is when I forget how to clutch, apart from those two situations the engine seems to be fine.

I would probably start with reading the fuel trims and pressure, and checking the TPS with a volt meter to see if it’s within spec

Could be fuel pump failing, my mk4 2.0 did something similar to that and it was the pump. If the rmps are not going past a certain point, then it could be a cam position sensor being faulty.

Not rpm dependant/ specific. It does make sense if it’s the pump, after repeatedly pushing the accelerator it worked again fine. Fcking hll, I thought the exhaust leak is bad.

Most likely entering limp mode, in these engines that is normally a sign of the the vanes in the turbos sticking. New turbo will sort it, in the meantime be pretty careful, if it is going to limp it will do it when you are accelerating or at higher speeds, don’t overtake anyone under any circumstances, it just becomes dangerous.

My family are pretty obsessed with owning vag cars with this engine and have had the same problem twice, it happens around 3000-3500rpm in 3rd 4th and 5th. I assume turning it off and on again puts it back to normal immediately?

Limp mode is completely different, my problem is as if I’m depressing (or pressing?) the clutch, revs just drop.
Anyway, I’ve had an VW mechanic drive around a bit, he says my pedal is buggered, nothing more.
Thanks for stalking my profile and replying, though. :D
