Header paint burned off immediately?

I just installed some longtubes from pacesetter and as soon as the car warmed up the header paint all burned off. Is this not hi temp paint? I was a little worried at first by all the smoke but it stopped once the paint burned off. Is there some sort of paint that would actually stay on without burning like this? I’ve heard some people mention bbq paint, but it seems a bit sketchy to me.

It could be protective paint that some companies coat their parts in to prevent rust? Thats odd for headers though. Usually if you buy painted/coated headers, they use heat resistant paint.

No pacesetter doesnt prep their headers very well. You need to take em off and paint them and put a heat wrap around them

I painted mine with some VHT rattlecan header paint. Smoked a little but didn’t burn off and is working good.
