What It's Like Driving The 1782bhp Koenigsegg Regera

The Regera has a 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, three electric motors, and a new 'Direct Drive' transmission. This is what it looks and sounds like under load on the open road

When i saw that car last year in geneva i thought it dosent get the attention it deserves, all these other hypercars, you know the holy trinity, dont even have the slightest chance to beat this amazing maschine.

Yea it annoys me how the Koenigsegg is making such great cars, but still it seems like an outcast in the car world. Sure Koenigsegg is rather new compared to older manufacturers, but I think that in 20 years people and media would’ve already picked up on how truly great and innovative Koenigsegg is.
No matter what, Koenigsegg is definitely my most favorite super/hypercar manufacturer in the world!

There are a couple of reasons it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. 1. It is a very small and as you said a rather new manufacturer, we might know who they are but most people don’t. 2. Price/performance/rarity, it is in another league and therefore doesn’t get mentioned in the same group. 3. The media rarely has opportunity to drive these kind of cars, but when they do it’s a big deal for us enthusiasts.

Its not an outcast. Its not street legal in the USA not to mention they build so little of them that at times Koenigsegg doesn’t even have a test car of their own. Because of this there are very little reviews or any on the streets to even spot.

“Hurr durr, manuals are the best”
There is nothing wrong with automatics and the engineering in the Regera is amazing.

That does not sound like a CVT, you can hear the motors at work.

“Koenigsegg Regera gets 1,782bhp and can shoot from 0-248mph in 20 seconds” Yup.
(248mph ~ 400 km/h…)

Just think of it… The ONE:1 is already faster than the holy Trinity, imagine how fast the Regera will be … 😉

The trinity were not meant to be the fastest, they were meant to push the hybrid agenda…

This picture annoys me the most, why are people even comparing these four cars?!
I don’t want to sound like i’m making fun out of the three(I would go for P1 rather than ONE:1 if I could), but ONE:1 is really in class of its own

Not The Rozzers

When i first heard of this gearbox design I thought this was going to be a bit boring car. Turns out that 1782 bhp can even make a car with one gear amazing. As JC said, Power fixes everything.

Electric motors are great at low speeds and it makes the mix good.
