Yup because when it comes to heavy braking and emergency stops its easy to lock the wheels up no matter who the rider is, I think even 125s need it.

I have ridden a 125cc for over 2 years without ABS and bought a Ninja 300 without ABS. I have never crashed and I only rarely lock up the rear wheel but people still say I need ABS

I think we could argue all day long whether it’s better to learn without it, or have it in case of an emergency - which are more likely to happen with new riders - but it would be pointless. It’s entirely up to the rider.

Exactly. I prefer the feel and “in control” i feel without ABS, and i have a friend who has had to use his before and was glad to have it.

I have locked up wheels on a moped. So engine doesn’t matter, when it is slippery it is helpful to have ABS.

I’ve learned without ABS for 3 years but I’m definitely more comfortable WITH ABS, knowing that you can just smash both brakes in an emergency situation is what I prefer

You can lock up your brakes, regardless of how big (or small) your bike may be :P ultimately comes down to rider preference, though.

I think its better to have it than not. Some people does not like it but they can just turn it off. And for those who are new riders and want abs can just leave it on. And it does not matter if it is a 300 or even a 125 the wheels can still lock up. So it is safer.

I believe that ABS isn’t necessary if you learn proper breaking habits. What i was taught was applu front break and position your foot above the rear brake. Let the weight transfer as you slow down move your foot onto the break and you completely remove locking the rear as an option. However if it’s life or death ABS is your friend.
