It was Range Rover Classic from 1989. His name was Junior because he was 10 years younger than my other Rangie and I need to distinguish them :). I bought him in Hungary just few days before Christmas 2012. He need some work (as every Land Rover…) but we were friends after few meters of test run. Engine sounded great (especially without rear silencer) and gearbox was working fine. After few more checks and some questions, there was nothing to talk about. We made a deal with previous owner and we were ready to load Junior on a trailer and start our 370km long trip back. The first run, naturally, lead on a gas station…. that V8 life tho :D…. We became a really good friends and I my 2 door could finally relax for a while.

We had good days and some worse days… If you ever had Land Rover you know what Im talking about :D… I had really big plans with Junior and I was about to realize few of them soon (some suspension mods, better oil cooling etc) but….
That one f#cking day had everything changed!….
Junior died!

It was friday, May the 30th and Ive done my work earlier. I met my friend and we go for shopping some stuff she couldnt fit in her car and her boyfriend (one of my best friend was still in work). We were heading to a gas station (no, not because of that V8 life :) ). We were talking as usually and smiling, making some jokes…
About 4:45PM
Everything was great until we reached this stupid intersection…. and that s#ithead in his X5…. He was in the turning lane against me. He come on the end of the line, stops and immediately turn and move left into my lane and he STOPPED here…..

After the crash and the flip-over, I was still holding the wheel with my left hand and I was holding myself from not falling down on the passenger side with my right hand against the roof. My friend was lying on the doors with hands on her chest. She looked at me and asks if im OK :). I was so afraid if she is allright… i was relieved when I heard her. I said “Yes.. i am. And are you allright?” She answered yes too. Me: “so lets get out of here”. We climbed out through the windscreen. She got scratched leg from my broken dash board and I had small scratch on my knee caused by dashboard too. Somebody called ambulance (my phone was found about 150meters away from Junior) and firefighters too. My dad has arrived and call friend with truck equipped with crane so we could put Junior back on wheels and transport him on the courtyard of my garage.

If you are still reading, I want to apologize for my grammar and hope you can understand what I´ve wrote :).
This story is the reason why I love so much my Classic Range Rovers. My Junior saved my and my friends life when he protect us from serious injuries. This car was designed at the end of 60´ and had no passive safety features or even airbags!!!
Junior has died, so we could walk away with just small scratches. Rest In Peace! I will never forget….
PS: This accident started my hate against all those motherf#ckers on the roads. Everytime I see some video or see them in real life, my blood starts to boil and I want to beat their teeth out of their stupid heads. So if you ever catch me raging over some video, you would know why it is.
Thank you for your time, drive safely and watch out!
I dared to tag you guys because you are true Land Rover enthusiasts @ParParParmesan @Crawlerer79 @EdwardPurkis @AlexHolbrow @JakeDebono
