Which car is better for a first car?
Honda prelude v.s Acura integra
My parents are willing to buy me my very first car. They aren’t in the market to purchase one yet but they told me to pick one at a reasonable price. I’ve narrowed my car list down to ten and these two are on my list.
What I’m looking for is which one is easier to work on/service,and what car has cheeper aftermarket parts available for it.
I’m not comparing the exact one’s in the picture’s, but the cars in general.

for cooles integra all day is it type r
I’ve driven both, and can honestly say they’re so different yet so similar. The Integra is far more of a drivers car; you can feel the road, the vibrations and it feels lower than the Prelude. It is lightweight, and has a bit of cabin noise (which I love). You can throw it into corners but it will stay flat due to its suspension, low centre of gravity and light weight (and it’d be ten times better with coils).
The Prelude is just as good except in a different regard; it’s got a bit more power but it’s also heavier. It’s far more refined than the integra and leans out towards the luxury sport design. That being said, it is also quite light and nimble compared to other average cars. The Prelude however, never quite garnered that cult following and sense of culture that the Integra managed to form.
All in all it depends on what you’re after - yes they are very similar but if you’re looking for a bit more comfort and refinement go Prelude. If you’re looking to have some fun around the b-roads, start modifying your car etc. go Integra as it also has FAR greater aftermarket support .
I noticed both your pics are autos. I hate to be that guy, but choosing the auto over the manual could genuinely ruin your experience as these are both still small, old, lightweight sports cars which are better off being controlled by the driver. Plus it’s so much funner.
Personally I’d go for the integra
Either as long as its a standard
Don’t know the integra very good but the Prelude is an awesome daily! Enough power for hooning around like a lunatic, easy parts and a good roadtrip ride ;)
The Prelude idk about aftermarket but Hondas are easy to work on and extremely reliable
