Update: just ordered a custom made bracket to mount my VR6 to a 6 speed out of a 350Z transmission. RWD here i come!! Now its time to start going down the checklist. Planning to have my car and rims painted and the engine bay cleaned up by spring.

Over the summer ill probably lay off working on her to put in some overtime to cover the cost of building my spare engine. Plus, the rest of my rwd swap as well so I can hopefully start tear down by mid November.

I can’t wait. Something about running a vr6t longitudinal just looks sexy as hell. Im just hoping i dont have to cut into the firewall too bad. Ill be relocating my window washer, coolant overflow, power steering, and brake booster reservoirs. I also more than likely will have to relocate the ecu and ignition coil packs (going to go with msd).

Thanks man. Its a dream build for sure. I am planning to finish paint, suspension, wheels, interior, and possibly put the turbo on by early june/july. I am going to leave painting the engine bay and underneith it until next year. Once i have the all the parts which i am planning by December or January ill rip the front end off and pull everything to swap the engines position, and paint it at that point. Thinking a royal blue with orange wheels and engine bay area.

Btw for those that are interested heres the list of parts i need to source.

350z adapter plate
350z 6 speed transmission
Stage 3 clutch kit
Flywheel (will have to weld in the 350z bolt holes and redrill to match my VR6)
Starter
LSD and rear subframe (approx 1.75” wider on each side then the golf, but that’s a good reason to make a wide body kit or flares)

Ill have to modify the driveshaft to the length needed as well. Ill also have to remove the gas tank and purchase a fuel cell. Ill also have to make new rear floor panels and install a roll cage.
