50 Years Of 911s No.3---Koenig Specials 930 'Road Runner'---Lost, Forgotten, And Probably Unknown.

I come clean with this. Not much is known about this, and even fewer have been made(more on that later), but I’d thought I’d cover something I doubt anyone here really knows about. I present to you, the Koenig Specials 930 ‘Road Runner’.

Koenig-Specials…You might have heard of them before. If you don’t know their exploits, well, I’ll tell you. A firm in Munich, they’ve tuned cars like the Ferrari 512BB and F50, along with Testarossas. But they don’t ‘just’ play with Italy’s Prancing Horse…They’ve played with others, including Porsche’s 911, Jaguar XJS, and Mercedes S-class.

Koenig has tuned the 911 in several different ways, but this, is the most extreme variant. Based on the 930, it was fitted with a rather extreme widebody kit made from fibre-glass, which included new bodywork all around: new side panels, new nose with fixed Porsche 928 headlights mounted much lower than those of the stock 930 and a completely reworked rear end with tail lights of the Audi 200 Turbo and a big wing. The engine was reworked too, with capacity climbing to 3.4-Litres from 3.0(Ish, sources claim different original displacement figures…), and with a much larger Turbo fitted. Power output ranged from 480-550 BHP. A massive increase from 260 hp, no? Performance? 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds(Good for the time), and a top speed of 191. Not bad, eh? (Don’t tell me its 20 mph slower than the CTR that appeared on the last feature, okay? I know already)

You could even have it as a Convertible. And judging by the number of pictures and ‘info’(Just pictures, or in Russian), many more bought the Cabrio than the Coupe.

…And yet, for some reason, that’s all I have for the Koenig-Specials 930 ‘Road Runner’. Arguably the shortest feature I’ll ever make in a long, long time. Not much is known about this car, and I’d assume, even less will even know it, much less see, buy, or remember that this car ever existed. Or even have it. I don’t know why, myself.

….Anyways, Feel free to leave more information, overlooked details, your thoughts on this…Thing, suggestions for either the next non-911-related article or ‘50 Years of 911s’ article down in the comments below, and I hoped you enjoyed it.

See you at the next one.

[Writers’ Note: Hey, so, if you’re reading this, then Thanks…Again. Always good to see that you lot really like these articles, and give me support, in any way. Even critique(I hope I take that better now…), maybe. So, how was writing about it like? Rather surprising. There was really a lack of information. I tried a few sources, but they said exactly the same things. And it was rather short, too. I haven’t a clue why. Anyways, before I write in a feeble attempt to bring word counts up, I’ll end it here.

Anyway, stay tuned for the next one, bound to come…Presumably in the next 2 weeks, Leave whatever I’ve mentioned earlier down in the comments if needed, and if you’ll excuse me, I need to rest. Badly.(Been on the laptop for a whole bloody day, what’s even wrong with me? How am I still awake?)

Hoped you Enjoyed it, and I’ll see you at the next one.

Thanks Again—-Joel.]

That’s right people: Next up, we’re having a 9ff here on this. This…Will be very exciting.

Agreed. It does look like a big mash-up of different things, but somehow looks kinda good.
