Is it possible to simply add rotors to a rotary?

I think it’s possible but it’s not as simple as bolting on another rotor, it would most likely require custom parts made and custom tuning.

You can’t just simply add rotors, it would be like adding cylinders to a piston engine. The motor has to be completely redesigned around the new configuration

The difference there is that rotor chambers in a Wankel engine are more modular in comparison to the engine block in a cylinder engine. So it is simpler, but by no means simple.
