1.6 Mini Cooper s

Hey people basically my insurance renewal is due in 2 months time and I’m tired of driving my 1.0 swift..

I am really interested in a Mini Cooper s seen a couple of 2005 models for 3-4 grand however the question is what versions have a sport button that’s the main reason I want the s will a 1.6 still have the button? This will be my second car and I’m only 21 with a years worth of driving and I’ve had a quote of 160 a month (no issue at all for me)

I suppose my main question is, does the 1.6 model have a sport button and what should I look out for when I inevitably buy one and certain rust spots on minis? Or what not

P.s. I want sport for the pops and increased performance this might be a long time car, if I didn’t care about sport mode i could save myself close to 2000 and get a normal Cooper :)

I haven’t really looked into the sport button to see if there are any issues I have just seen videos of Mini Cooper s with a stock exhaust with sports mode on popping during deceleration.

And since it’s supercharged I won’t feel the need to upgrade to a more powerful car straight away

They dont come with a sport button im afraid (gen 1) but, the pops and crackles are a 2005/2006 Mini Cooper S thing only, mine is an automatic so you cant heae it very often, only when on neutral and revving it up hehe.

To clear that out: increased pops and bangs with the Sport Button only come with the N18 models(2011-2015)

Is this the future of modified car ownership? People want a car purely because of a single button??

Honestly the button doesn’t bother me as much now I’ve done a lot more research I would just like it to pop, I used to have a 125 that popped on downhills but after coming off and due to injurys and fiancé not allowing me to get another one I would like a car to at least to that a little.

I’ve been told that a r53 doesn’t have a button but still pops obviously id customise it and probably put a miltek exhaust on it and remap of course now it’s just what Colour I want now, I suppose if I don’t like the stock colour I can get it wrapped
