Haribo #88 Mercedes Benz AMG GT3 placed 3rd after 24 hours of Nurburgring
The race started around 3:30 PM Germany time with good conditions on the track but after a few laps, there was hail and rain and the race was put on red flag after incidents of sliding off course. The race resumed(or restarted) at around 8:00 PM after attempts to resume the race at 6:00 PM but moved to 7:20 PM. The cars were put on their starting positions before restarting the race.
No. 88 mostly lead the whole race but after driving 100km/h at the pit stop, the car was given a minute and 32-second penalty, that made it fall to the 4th position. Driving speed at the pits should be under 60 km/h.
No. 88 never gained the lead position, only to make it to second position at one time, then falling to third until the race was over.
Anyways, AMG-HTP Motorsport Mercedes AMG-GT3 No. 29 lead the lap until the 2nd to the last lap when AMG-Team Black Falcon Mercedes AMG-GT3 No. 4 bumped No. 29 slightly on a curve, making No. 29 lose the lead to No. 4, and ultimately won the 2016 ADAC-Nurburgring 24 hour Endurance Race championship ans SP 9 class where the said cars belong.
No. 88 was the crowd favorite until the end.
