Watch The Incoming Ford Focus 'RS500' Bomb Around The Nordschleife

We've been expecting an even hotter version of the Focus RS for a while, and now this rest mule has been spotted lapping the Nurburgring

Judging by the latest batch of rumours and speculation, Ford’s hotter RS - which may or may not be dubbed ‘RS500’ - is expected to have a big increase in power from the standard car’s 345bhp 2.3-litre turbocharged engine, and a lower weight figure. By the looks of the test mule - seen wearing a pair of bonnet vents similar to the last RS500 - is also riding a little lower on lower profile tyres. Could it end up being faster than the Mercedes-AMG A45 and Audi RS3 uber hatches? We’ll have to wait and see…

Is it just me or is there a spelling mistake in the description? Rest instead of Test.

500 from hp or amount that will be made?

I think it is going to stand for both, Mountune has also hinted to a 500hp upgrade kit for the Standard RS on Facebook!

The 500 in the previous RS500 stood for the units made, so this is very probable for the current generation too. However, 500 bhp from an Inline-4 on a road car aren’t science fiction anymore. We will see.

The last rs500 had 345hp. I highly doubt this one will top 400hp. I read elsewhere a slight bump in hp is possible, but their main objective is shedding weight and stiffer suspension. Which should make for one hell of car.

You know what would be really cool? A new RS200. And you know what would be even cooler? Seeing that RS200 on WRC.

This sounds good. I want to know which of the manufacturers will be the first to break the 400bhp mark.

That last evo I think broke 400.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong
