Watch In Horror As A Nissan Tsuru Disintegrates During Crash Testing
For every narrow escape from death we read about or see courtesy of dash-cam footage, there’s a crash where someone isn’t so lucky, and the difference is often the car itself.
In regions like Latin America and India the safety standards are nowhere near where North America and Europe are at, and the local wings of Global NCAP are trying to change that.
With a Latin NCAP rating system from zero to five, this shocking footage shows a four-star Nissan Versa in a front three-quarter collision with a zero-star Nissan Tsuru. The latter’s A-pillar folds terrifyingly, with the interior footage showing just what an impact the driver’s face and body would sustain. Horrible.
After seeing the results, Nissan immediately withdrew the Tsuru from sale. You have to wonder how many lives that decision might ultimately save…

I thought it was an e30
it would probably be very similar result, the e30 is from a time the NCAP didn’t existed and the e36 scored poorly on the first ever tests also in 2009 they changed the rating being more tough to pass…
And that, was the end of that…A Nissan we’ve never heard of is withdrawn from sale, and all is well with the world now…..
It’s an old Nissan Sentra. A 20 years old design currently solded in Latín América with a high success because it’s cheap to produce and profit quite high. It was labelled as sentra for the US market when it was sold.
I would rather drive a 20-years old car than this. Or in case of Volvos or Saabs even 30-years old ;D
Isnt the tsuru a 20 year old design? It is a sentra after all. They just havent bothered updating the car.
When I saw this…
yesterday after showing this to my dad he show me a volvo crash in brasil against a Renault whit a 20 year old design and the Renault driver died on the scene and the other 3 passengers were in very bad shape, the volvo driver a brand new XC90 was just scared and apart from a missing left wheel and some painel damaged the volvo looked like well a xc90 the Renault in other hand I didn’t even recognise it..

As most people been saying here, That Tsuru is just the same car as the Sentra, but 20 years older hence why it is a deathtrap on wheels, I personally thought this was a comparison about how far we’ve on crash safety, but it was a comparison between existing models, ouch
Well, people can’t afford as much as we can there. It’s being produced for 15 years now
Im from Mexico, and they are going to discontinue the nissan tsuru because at the year 2020 the government increase the safety regulations on car (obligatory 2 airbags and Abs system). Also is one of the car with major number of sales in Mexico… Just because reliability of the tsuru (Or a nissan sentra b13)
they just said it will in march 2017 instead…
