Watch An Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Bang Out A Stunning 7:32 'Ring Lap
The ladies and gents at Alfa Romeo were no doubt furious when Porsche announced that its new Panamera Turbo had lapped the Nurburgring in 7min and 38sec. That pipped the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s own time by just one second, making the Panamera the fastest production saloon around the Norschleife. Just a few months later, and Alfa has smashed that time with an incredible 7min 32sec effort. And unlike Porsche, Alfa has actually given us the full onboard lap to enjoy.
It’s running the eight-speed automatic gearbox rather than the six-speed manual, while we’re assuming the car is completely standard other than the GoPros and gaffer tape. As a reminder, the Quadrifoglio packs a 2.9-litre V6 kicking out 503bhp, making 0-62mph possible in just 3.9 seconds.

Now that was a funny……..back in 1986
rollcage=the weight loss in the seats, the 5 point harness is for the same as the roll cage and the suit protection, sure you can claim the rollcage gives it strength and the harness keeps him in place but I doubt it will make a difference in this case to be honest.
All that isn’t going to give one second, those are safety features

Actually rollcage can give more stiffness to the chassis making the car better in corners.
We also do not know what kind of tyres they’ve been using. Are they the stock ones that come with the car?
These lap battles between car manufacturers are like those guys drag racing and saying “it’s stock man, I swear” only to find out after that they packed some goodies and it was not that stock as claimed.

Just me that noticed the lap didn’t finished at the same place it started? Well, it could give some 2 or 3 secs difference. But anyway, faster than panamera. Sick driving and I’m impressed af w/ the car
There’s always been an argument regarding that. Indeed you start the count at the starting line and finish before the pits entrance. As long as everyone’s using the same distance, I don’t see why that would make a difference.
