Watch A Tesla Model X Give A McLaren 650S A Run For Its Money On The 'Strip

For what is essentially a glorified minivan, the Model X P90D is shockingly fast - as evidenced by this one giving a McLaren 650S a run for its money in multiple drag races

While the Model X is an impressive machine, its launch hasn’t exactly been ideal. Find out why here.

I like Tesla, but I wish people stop comparing them to supercar, it is so pointless, electric cars in a way are like drag car, only thing that they’re good at is 1/4 mile run obviously they’re likely to beat supercar to 1/4 mile.

If a car has the power of a supercar. It will be compared to them. Thats how it works :I

Couldn’t have said it better myself. 1/4 miles and 0-60 is something i personally couldnt care less today, most cars that hit 0-60 in under 5 seconds is already fast enough in my book. That said, im willing to bet the slowest McLaren would absolutely destroy the fastest Tesla on a track without breaking a sweat.

If something has 600 horsepower, do you not expect it to be comparable to supercars? Your acting like someone who wants to stop comparing the prius to the ford fusion

A CVT could be somehow compared to the P90D because the two of them use all the engine power at the instance of acceleration… Any CVT supercars around?? That would be interesting

I think we are years for that, if that ever happened, CVT is too fragile to handle lots of horse power and torque, and I think the car would be so boring to drive that no sport car manufacturer wouldn’t put them in the car

I don’t understand why anyone would compare a supercar to a 2+ton SUV…
Honestly, I love Tesla. But it has no chance against 650hp and half of the weight.
The strongest Teslas are limited to 530hp because of the battery anyway, so it isnt even 700hp as advertised.
