1994 Honda Civic CX
1994 Honda Civic Hatchback CX, I bought it in June with 149,000 Miles on it (not bad for a 94) for $3,000 to be my new daily. For those who don’t know this is the very base model hatchback with a D15 engine (no VTEC D: ) and manual everything, luckily it does have A/C which is essential in South Texas. The first modification was new tires and a Rear Disc Brake conversion, I did this for future performance mods and for sheer ease of maintenance (I don’t know how to change drum shoes), awesomely enough these little Hondas are like LEGO sets and I was able to use the brake booster and entire back end from a 1994 Honda Civic Sedan at the junk yard, as well as a junk yard Integra’s proportioning valve, and some custom brake lines. The second modification was a full 2.25” exhaust system from eBay ( the OEM one was completely rusted with holes everywhere, a clogged catalytic converter, and a muffler that was barely hanging on). I’m not trying to rice this thing I just bought the eBay exhaust because it was cheap and there was no point in putting an expensive performance exhaust on a D15. The third modification was a cluster swap, the original cluster didn’t have a tachometer (which made shifting very interesting) so I took one from a 1995 Coupe at the junkyard that had a tachometer and made sure to swap over my original odometer because I’m really proud of that 150K mile 94. The fourth and most recent modification has been the purchase of a junkyard steel rim ( one was pretty bent), the painting of all the steel rims black, and the addition of extended neochrome lug nuts because I think they look cool. All and all I’m just trying to keep it a low budget, good looking mile eater, but I do have goals of one day doing a K24 swap with a K20 head with ITBs and a turbo.
