Anyone tried a remap on their IS

Who has tried it? was it worth the money or did it not make a huge enough difference to be worth it?

It depends on what model IS you have? Basically it’s not worth the effort unless you have forced induction or uprated cams. I’ve got a supercharged is200 and one of my goals this year is to remap it.

Remapping on the stock IS200 ECU is pointless. It will work for a few days, but that thing learns and it will have adjusted all its parameters after a month to get back to its original settings. Even Piggybacks are useless because of this, or you need to reset your ECU every time you turn the engine off.

Seriously, Standalone or bust. The TRD silver and black boxes for the SC kits are the only exception to this as they are designed to work with the stock ECU.

You’re right about the remapping of the stock ECU. The Silver and Black boxes from tte are just fcd’s and only work proper with the standart supercharger pully. You can use any fcd for the supercharger, i use the HKS fcd.

There are piggybacks that work zeitronix and greddy e-manage ultimate wich i would chose.

Stand alone isn’t a option because the ECU in the is200 is a multiplexing one. If you change to stand alone your windows, climat controlle and other things stop working. It has been done but it’s tricky and totally not worth the effort on the 1g-fe Engine.

Btw. ECU Code for the Is200 is t18
