1988 Toyota Corolla AE92 Liftback BACK FROM THE DEAD
[UPDATE]
So the brakes are done, i am still looking for a good mechanic who knows how to work with carbs before i clean it out, and from what you can see, one of the headlights is kinda crooked so i am gonna make some new headlight mounts so it can be straight as an arrow. I am looking into some steel widened wheels, so hopefully in a week or two, i’ll be posting some pics with the new rims :) The car in this condition in which is it now, is 100% stock and i commute with it daily with it without any issues :)
Hope you like it and I’ll keep you posted! :)
Hi guys, so here you have my Corolla Liftback.
To say the least it’s been a journey. My main focus at this point is to get the car back to perfect factory condition and after that, hopefully, i will start some work on the engine, interior etc. Regarding the engine i had no problems as it was in good shape (even after been run for 1/2 times a year for the past 5 years). The body gave the most trouble, as it was full of rust and a lot of parts were really hard to find in good condition so it was mostly digging up parts on junkyards and fabricating what i could.
The car is about 90% done and this is the work needed to get it done:
-Need to change the brake lines on the whole system as they rusted away completely
-Assemble the interior
-Needs new rims (most probably r15 widened steel ones)
-Carb cleanup
-Polishing the whole body
-Change the headlights (will fabricate xenon ones with projectors)
I may or may not forgot something but nothing else comes to mind :)
If you made it this far in my post without running away, let me know what do you think and i am open to any tips/suggestions. :)

I’ve never seen one of these looks really cool
Yeah, the most common are the sedan’s and the hatches, but these are still around too
Oh dude… You just brought back some memories. My father used to have one and it was the first car I have ever driven. Sadly he had to sell it, but it was an awesome car…
Glad you had a trip down memory lane :)
