Normally they put “the car you want” vs “the car you can afford” This time its “awesome new car” vs “iconic alternative”
Because they know nobody wants the ugly FK2, especially over the much more interesting EK9

Im not sure that many people will disagree. The FK2 is not “good lookin”
In my area there is a dealer with a focus rs , Golf R and an FK2 . As a genuine Honda guy , i would buy the Type R in a whim. It feela and looks special and it’s another car of a big production line as the focus rs and the golf. I thing the Focus RS is the best car but you can’t distinguish it from a Focus ST or a simple focus .
Yea I’d prefer that iconic civic aswell, I mean it was in INITIAL D DURIFTOOO :D That FK2 looks like a spaceship ._.
Next time, please use words like “in my opinion” or “to me”. It makes the reading more comfortable and doesn’t look like generalising things. I personally like the looks of the FK2, since I’ve seen it live on the streets. Definitely turns heads. But each to their own.
Just my opinion, but I really love the new FK2 Civic. I’d do some pretty regrettable things to get one…
I might sound weird for saying this, but as someone who loves muscle cars, the EK9 Type-R is my favorite hatchback. I don’t even know why, it’s just…cool.
