Why I would recommend changing the Engine/Lower Gearbox Mount on the ST.

The OEM bushings are awful and allow for lots of engine movement, occasionally resulting in the engine knocking into the firewall especially when launching and from 1-2. So did a bit of research today and bought the GGR Lower Gearbox Mount for the MK7 ST. Even as stock the OEM mount isn’t really up to a decent specification, as I read somewhere the MK7 fiesta models share the same Mount, meaning it was likely developed on the non turbo cars before the ST/ZS Ecoboost engines were released, meaning it isn’t designed to handle added torque from a turbo engine. So I thought it was appropriate to change, especially considering my car runs more than stock. I’ll attach a video Boomba Racing made showing how bad the OEM mount is.

I think it mainly concerns the higher torque turbo engines, but it wouldn’t do any harm to change. The main reason I’m swapping mine out is sometimes I can hear the engine knock the firewall under hard acceleration and going from gear 1-2 is sometimes quite jolty because of the soft mount allowing too much play.

Every Focus should have the engine mounts redone. The OEM ones suck.
