This Is Aston Martin's Latest Hypercar: Project 003

The pace of change at Aston Martin is astonishing right now. As well as rapidly replacing much of its ageing line-up, the British firm is already working on its third hypercar, the first two being the Valkyrie and the Valkyrie AMR Pro.

Gaydon released a very basic sketch to preview Project 003 a few months ago, but now the company has followed it up with a much more revealing teaser.

The familial link between this and the Valkyrie (below) is clear. We have a two-part diffuser that looks big enough to get lost in, top exit exhausts and a generally very squat stance. There’s also something quite mean about those brake lights.

Aston hasn’t revealed any new information about the car to go with the teaser, but we do know production will be limited to “500 coupe examples,” which seems to suggest there might be a roadster version at some point. Before you get excited about any N/A V12 heroics, though, we should point out that 003 is instead going to receive a “turbocharged petrol-electric hybrid engine.”

‘Project 003’ is also just a codename - the car will be officially christened at some point before its 2021 launch.

Considering Aston Martin’s good humor and ‘Q’ branch, I think it’ll be good!

A Vanquish S which asks “would Sir like oneself to feel warmer?”, which would prompt a pair of flamethrowers out of the headlight casings. A “would Sir like to go sideways?” button would prompt a walking cane-style hydraulic handbrake and a “would Sir like to take part in a track day?” button prompting a supply of English tea to Sir’s tweed-decorated racing helmet, in the style of a top hat.

Will we get a 007 in the future?

Please let it actually be a spy-themed car with all the gadgets in the world

It looks like a de-aero’d Vulcan, will be interesting to see if it’s front or mid engined

Why do I feel like McLaren and Aston Martin always come up with new supercars, unexpected?
