Aston Martin has released a rather pretty video documenting the birth of the new Vantage GTE all the way from its initial concept to its launch. The be-winged and deeply angry track monster, which has covered about 9000 testing miles, is quite the star of the show.

The film covers the 18-month journey the designers and engineers at Aston Martin took in order to make the new AMG-engined GTE happen. As of now, its job is to better the success of its direct predecessor, the V8 Vantage, but not before you’ve watched this. Enjoy the video.

While being captivated by this beautiful film, I couldn’t help not being bothered by that clunky emblem. The video made me think of cars like the F40 and how much passion and hard work was put into that masterpiece as well, yet the F40 wore stickers instead of a badge in order to save weight and improve airflow. Small details like that make some of us car geek out. Or maybe it’s just me… I dunno.
