The company the operates the Top Gear Track Experience has collapsed due to a lack of bookings.

TGXP Limited gave drivers the chance to pilot a Top Gear-spec Kia Cee’d around the same Dunsfold Aerodrome track made famous by the show’s Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment, which peaked with mega celebrities like Will Smith and Tom Cruise.

But at around £200 for a short stint in the car it proved too expensive for most people’s tastes, while demand may have dropped in line with reduced viewing figures for the latest series. Now, the company has been wound up.

The company also hosted Ariel Atom- and Nissan GT-R-based activities at Dunsfold. One Reddit user posted the email they received from the firm, which says: “Please be advised that TGXP Limited, which operated the Top Gear Track Experience days, has ceased to trade with immediate effect due to its financial position.”

It goes on to advise people to seek refunds from whoever they bought from. It lists the phone numbers for third-party booking operators and adds instructions of what to do if you booked direct with TGXP.

After one series of new new Top Gear, the brand doesn’t seem to be in the best shape, does it?

True, it is just ruined. They should just have renamed it and use the same things. Because nobody watched Top Gear, they watched Jeremy Richard and James

Exactly my thoughts, for 220€ you can do NINE laps on the Nürburgring and I would say that is way more exciting.

Top Gear’s dying. F1, Bake Off & The Voice are gone. Conservatives want to get rid of the TV licence. The BBC are just coffin dodging now.
