the “mexican” car was actually sold in the US by the name Sentra, the thing to keep in mind is that US car specs have changed a long time ago and mexican laws will change until 2019, this car nissan tsuru will stop production at the end of 2016 due to lots of pressure on nissan.

The Nissan Tsuru, originally known as the Sentra B13 is a car that is well known for being a crappy car, however is the cheapest car you can buy in my country (Mexico) it is available for 8k new, and even less when used. Making it a really common car. The car just ended production this year. One crap car making it to production does not mean the whole safety procedure is bad. There are countries with much simpler safety tests, why not talk about them? If what you want to remark is the fact that the safety procedures in other countries are not as develped then do that, don’t say just (insert country)’s safety procedures are not as developed as those in Europe
Have you watched the video? The driver of the Tsuru would have been dead. The whole driver cabin got pushed together, the steering wheel now replaces his heart and his feet are relocated to his knees. I would say that a country where that car can be sold definetly has bad safety tests. And the fact that there are other countries which are even worse doesn’t make that any better.
Huge mexican fan of CT here… I know we have had a bad history in car safety but the thing is actually improving. Starting from 2019 selling a new car with no airbags and ABS will be prohibited, and for 2017 Nissan will stop Tsuru’s production. Although the Nissan Versa is intended for sale in the US it is also a great selling car in Mexico (#1 until July 2016) followed by Aveo, Vento and Jetta. A lil bit of research is needed to criticize.
And as a matter of fact I have previously owned a Tsuru… and yes it’s rubbish.
