The Jaguar F-Pace SVR In Testing Is All The Noise You Need Right Now

Jaguar regularly tests its SVR mules at the Nurburgring, and the hottest F-Pace has just been spotted doing laps. Turn up the volume...

Check out this spy footage of what’s believed to be the upcoming Jaguar F-Pace SVR, complete with supercharged 5.0-litre V8 and a noise so hairy-chested it’ll make your face itch.

The company’s first properly quick SUV is undergoing testing at the Nurburgring, and under the bright German sunshine the heavily camouflaged Jag sounds fantastic.

Rumours have apparently surfaced that Jaguar could swap the ageing motor for a replacement from BMW, but we haven’t seen the source and it sounds pretty damn unlikely to us. In any case, the F-Pace in the video at the top sounds too similar to this one of the F-Type SVR, and we’re convinced it’s the same engine.

Power is likely to be north of 550bhp, and it’s good to see the old lump still being used for future models. It’s a spectacular engine and the world (YouTube included) is a better place for the blown 5.0-litre legend’s existence.

Turn up the volume and enjoy!

JLR has been testing engines without a restrictor plate on the supercharger. 650+ hp.

As much as I love the 5.0 engine I think its time to make a new one, it has been around for a while
I’m not saying make another four-litre V8 like almost any other manufacturer these days, but a newer supercharged unit which would keep the sound, but solve some of the problems with the current ageing engine, such as overheating in extreme conditions and heavy weight. Possibly better fuel economy too

The F-Pace is basically an XE on stilts so at least we now know the 5.0 can officially fit in the XE. My guess is their waiting for mid life refreshes before making a fire spitting XE SVR.

I normally don’t like these luxury SUV’s but the sound alone of this Jag would get me to buy it
