The Infiniti Q60 Black S Is An Angry-Looking Concept That Has To Get Made
If you’ve not lusted after an Infiniti before, you’re about to. The Nissan sub-brand isn’t exactly known for fast, desirable cars, but it’s just cooked up one hell of a concept for the Geneva Motor Show.
It’s called the Q60 Black S, it’s been built to celebrate Infiniti’s new technical partnership with the Renault F1 team, and it’s quite a striking thing. Taking the existing Q60 and adding a ridiculous amount of visual aggression, the Black S is packing various carbonfibre aero pieces including a new rear wing, rear diffuser, side skirts and a front splitter. The lower area of the front bumper makes the Black S look particularly angry.
The arches have been widened to accommodate an increase in track, and filled with enormous 21-inch alloy wheels. Under the bonnet you’ll find the same 400bhp, four-wheel drive twin-turbo V6 setup as the existing Q60 range-topper, but Infiniti won’t just be leaving it there. The plan is to develop an F1-inspired Kers system to up that figure to 500bhp.
The big question is, will this actually be put into production? At the moment, nothing’s been confirmed, but it hasn’t been ruled out either. According to Infiniti, the car “will help to gauge potential public interest in high-performance derivatives of Infiniti cars”.
A few years Infiniti teased us all with the Q50 Eau Rouge, which never made it past the concept stage, the Black S would be quite a nice way to make up to us power hungry petrolheads, don’t you think?

This is exactly what Infiniti needs to stay relevant on today’s market. With the Q60 and the Q50 replacing the G37, I feel that the company has grown soft and nearly boring. By giving their new models electric steering, new untested powerplants which have lower output than the previous years (except the red sport, obviously), and not trying to outdo BMW, I feel they risk losing their appeal to the petrolhead demographic. They need to go back to what they did a few years ago when just about all of their models from the G to the M to the FX were rebranded Japanese Nissan driver’s cars. By producing an exciting flagship to challenge the likes of the M4 and the C63, as well as toughening up their cheaper models, they could regain their position as a potentially better alternative to the Germans. #makeinfinitigreatagain

Sooo, the Q60 is a sucsessor to the Nissan Skyline, so this could be so somewhat a new Skyline GT-R.
I’ve heard infinities last for a long time, so this might be a good car that’s actually reliable (which is rare nowadays). No (lasts an infinite amount of time) puns here
The old VQ engines in the G35,350z and the next generation G37 and 370z would last well over 100,000 miles with out issues and they sounded great
But idk about the newer engines
I hate it. Companies be like: Yo, we can make this super cool car, look at it! World be like: Holy crap, will you sell it to us? Company: Lol, nah.
