The Honda NSX Costs £130,000, But That's Not The Only Reason You Can't Buy One

Approximate UK pricing for Honda's supercar has been announced at the Geneva motor show, although even if you can afford the steep figure, you probably can't buy one
The Honda NSX Costs £130,000, But That's Not The Only Reason You Can't Buy One

We’ve been expecting the Honda NSX to be rather expensive in the UK, and now we know how expensive. Are you ready? It’s “approximately” £130,000. It’s not quite as bad as some had suggested, with talk of ‘swapping the dollar sign for a pound symbol’ on the car’s $156,000 price in the USA (where it’s badged as an Acura), but still a considerable sum.

That’s about £3000 more than a Porsche 911 Turbo and £10,000 more than the base Audi R8. It’s almost £5000 less than the top spec R8 V10 Plus though, and around £13,000 less than a McLaren 570S.

The problem is, even if you can afford this 550bhp hybrid supercar, you probably can’t buy one. The UK’s entire allocation of 100 cars was snapped up by buyers leaving £5000 deposits way back in 2014, before the production version of the car had even been revealed. Whether or not more cars will be made available in the future, we’ll have to wait and see.

Assuming the NSX was still available, would you buy one, or would you rather the Audi, McLaren, Porsche or something else?

I’d rather have Nissan GTR Nismo or the 991 GT3 RS

Well The old nsx was a real mans car, manual, v6 rwd, mid engined. But the new one is much more refined, and too modern, and too heavy. The only real mans cars out there are the Viper, c7 the gt3 rs and the gt4’s because they are manual. I’m not saying it’s bad, but it’s like the old nsx was for it’s time, hypermodern

Just because it’s manual doesn’t mean it’s a man’s car… just because a VW Beetle or a Prius has a manual doesn’t make it any more “manly”. And hypermodern is pretty good, technology has gotten so far and it allows us to push the boundaries of performance without having to worry about loss of traction, understeering into a tree, or spinning out suddenly at ridiculous speeds. What’s really more fun, that feel of insane speed or worrying about every tiny degree of steering and brake input every moment in your in your car.

Well….that’s the NSX scratched off my cool car list. I would take the Maclaren any day of the week.

That’s easy. I would go for the Porsche. Maybe the R8 V10 Plus or even the McLaren, but that amount of money for a Honda hybrid? No

If I convert that amount of money to Aed (U.A.E) I could by an Amg gt and still have money to get myself a Supra or R34
