The Freemode Events Update Will Make GTA Online More Awesome Than Ever

Waiting around in lobbies before taking on games and challenges in GTA Online is a pain, don’t you think? If it’s something which irks you, you’ll probably like the sound of the game’s latest update. Called Freemode Events, it brings a bunch of new games and challenges, all of which can be accessed in Free Mode without a lobby wait in sight.

According to Rockstar:

"Taking full advantage of the latest generation of consoles and PC hardware, there are no menus, lobbies, or load times – just an open Freemode session filled with Friends, Crewmates, rivals, and randoms where spontaneous and chaotic new games and challenges will appear."

The one which we’re liking the look of most is ‘Hunt the Beast’, which sees one player transform into a werewolf-like creature that’s stronger and faster than everyone else. The other players are then given the task of hunting down the animal. King of the Castle also looks entertaining, and will see you defending a designated place against attackers looking to ‘dethrone’ you.

It’ll be available to download for free from 15 September on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
