The Ford Fiesta Has Already Been Rendered As An ST And RS

Want to know how the eventual Fiesta ST and perhaps unlikely Fiesta RS could look? Check out these renders
The Ford Fiesta Has Already Been Rendered As An ST And RS

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: the Internet’s car renders work damn fast. Just take these sporty Fiesta renders, which Hungarian renderer X-Tomi Design put together mere days after the all-new version of Ford’s big-selling supermini was revealed.

Let’s start with the Fiesta ST, as that’s a car which we can say is going to happen with near certainty. Its looks aren’t surprising, since the new Fiesta doesn’t represent a radical departure from the old one in terms of styling. This ST vision is perhaps a little prettier than the current car, though.

What’ll be nestling under the bonnet is something of a mystery: Ford could simply update the existing, surprisingly muscular 1.6-litre turbocharged four-pot, but there have been rumours in the past about a future Fiesta ST adopting a highly modified version of the 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine.

Next up, we have a Fiesta RS. Ford ruled out an RS version of the outgoing Fiesta on multiple occasions, but the next-gen car? Who knows.

If it did happen and the ST was powered by a three-pot, perhaps the RS would use a four-cylinder engine. We’re speculating massively of course, but then this is a hypothetical car which probably won’t happen.

Which do you like the look of the most: the ST, or the RS?

I’m a sucker for performance cars, so I’ll definitely pick the RS.

1.0-litre ST? Highly unlikely, because:
Firstly, Ford just don’t have a 1.0 engine that would produce over 180PS. If they did, they would tell us about it already.
Secondly, making a 1.0 engine with 180PS+ is.. challenging and too expensive
Thirdly, as it was discussed before, extreme downsizing has a negative effect on fuel economy
So.. most likely its going to be the engine from the current ST200.

They don’t have one yet. Before 2014, nobody believed that you could squeeze 140 bhp out of the 1.0 EcoBoost without blowing the engine, either.

Didn’t ford put a 1.0l EcoBoost with 200hp in a Formula Ford with barely any modifications apart from the turbo? 200hp from the 1.0l engines isn’t hard

You can get over 180 out of the 1.0 ecoboost. Aftermarket tuners have proven this. I don’t think this engine will be in the ST however.

The Fiesta R2 rally cars have a 1.0 ecoboost engine with about 180hp… but yeah, they’re not cheap…

Easy: if cars get 1l engines that make about 200hp they start becoming motorbikes 😂

Just the same 1.6 L with massive power coming from it. How ‘bout 240hp or less? There some tuning companies who can tweak engine at a high rate. I am talking about the ST or the please-make-it-happen-only-if RS version.

There already is a kit for the rs bumpers for the fiesta build by maxd out design. I know of one fiesta st in the netherlands that has the rs bumpers and wing and has it tuned to about 260 bhp i think. It looks awesome
