The first F1 2016 game details and pictures have now been released, with Codemasters sharing a number of juicy snippets about the up-coming racing title.

The new game is set to hit the real and virtual shelves this summer for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and will feature “the most immersive career mode” ever featured.

The new career mode will feature a whopping 10 seasons and adds exciting elements both on and off track to improve the overall realism, including hospitality areas that will act as the game hub.

Mercedes’ beautiful AMG GT S safety car returns to the F1 game franchise and the new Virtual Safety Car (VSC) will be incorporated for the first time. Meanwhile, players will have the chance to choose their own avatar, race number and create a helmet design for their 2016 game career.

Gamers will have the chance to choose any team to start their career mode with, but each will have different expectations. A cool new feature is being able to choose at which time the races run (sunrise or sunset, for example), and the new Baku street track circuit, as well as the Haas F1 team is included in the game.

Lee Mather, principal games designer at Codemasters, said on the game:

“F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise. The new career mode sits at the heart of the game and allows gamers to create their own legend over a career that can span for up to a massive ten seasons.
“Beyond improving upon the fastest and most thrilling on-track racing experience in gaming, F1 2016 uniquely offers the drama and vehicle development that goes on behind the scenes. A rich car upgrade system is fully integrated into a new and deep practice development programme which mirrors the tests carried out by the teams in real life.
“The career mode, together with the re-introduction of the safety car, the first inclusion of the Virtual Safety Car and a number of other unannounced improvements means that F1 2016 will have more new features than any other year of the franchise.”

F1 2015 introduced improved handling and graphics but lacked the features and immersive elements of previous games. Judging by these initial details, this year’s version looks set to change that. We can’t wait to hear more information about this summer’s release!

It’s literally the CoD of racing games. They improve the graphics every year (the game looks fancy, gotta admit that), but it gets less realistic every year. Not to mention that Codemasters is obsessed with copying/pasting content from other games by them, the Brands Hatch GP circuit is literally copied and pasted from Racedriver GRID into every current CM game.

Well this year it is, and it always has been except 2014. The physics smash GranTurismo and especially Forza. and have been improved. The AI are the best in the world, and have been improved and it has a proper career mode (looking at you forza). They knew what they have to work and they do. For 2015 they were begged to improve physics, they did. For 2016 they were told to flesh out the game, they did.

Oooh, the call of duty of racing games is back!

Simply isn’t true. Call of duty has to make a new game each year, and they do a good job. F1 improves on their excisting game, so they can listen to the people and give them what they want. Something they have done. F1 2015 rivaled forza, and beat it in everything except car list (something it is not supposef to) F1 2016 will be the best racing game for racing you can buy (for consoles, not sure about pc)

After the shambles that F1 2015 was, this game will be staying in the shop, where it belongs.

F1 2015 was for racing enthusiasts, with it’s launch trouble and lack of content. F1 2016 will be fleshed out enough. If they avoid launch trouble it will easily beat the current concole titles.

Well they could put so much more time in optimising the graphics because they could just copy the sound from gran turismo
