The Danish Speed Freaks At Zenvo Have Built A 1174bhp 10th Birthday Present For Themselves
A 5.8-litre twin-supercharged V8 supercar is a damn fine way to celebrate your birthday, don’t you think?
Danish barnstormer Zenvo has released pictures of its shockingly powerful TS1 GT ahead of the car’s full debut at Geneva tomorrow. Strapping a pair of superchargers to the already pretty fierce V8 has bumped power to 1147bhp at 7700rpm. Yes, really.
Top top speed has been limited to 233mph, presumably because it might go supernova if it goes any faster than that. Or bits might start falling off. Either way. The 0-62mph benchmark is smacked over the head with a big club in 2.8 seconds.
The engine is so violent, the firm is claiming, that they had to build an entirely new seven-speed automatic gearbox to handle it, with shift speeds allegedly ‘not far off’ F1 standards.
Despite all the strengthening beams and the sheer mass of the drivetrain, lightweight thinking everywhere else has kept the dry weight to a respectable 1580kg.
Even more alarming than the engine could be the price. It hasn’t been revealed yet, but Zenvo says that the interior switches are forged from copper and rhodium, and on their own cost as much as much as a Porsche 911 R. Just think about that for a second and absorb the full scale of the madness…

They’re going to need to build themselves a new runway as well to find the real top speed of this thing!

For my 15th birthday my parents made a 3d cake in the shape of a VW Beetle because I was pretty much showing them another Craigslist Beetle every day. Anyway, they made me that and said “here, you have a VW Beetle now!” So because I got a Beetle, and the Chiron is pretty much a big Beetle (owned by VW, called a BUGatti), and the Chiron has 1500 hp, and 1500 is more than 1174, by birthday present is better than Zenvo.
The above may/may not be me telling myself I don’t want the Zenvo because I will never be able to afford one…
