The BAC Mono 'Marine Edition' Is The Answer To The Most Ridiculous First World Problem Ever

The world’s super rich have all sorts of problems us regular folk would never think of. For instance, if you have a massive, flashy super yatch, what sort of car should you be storing aboard it? Happily, BAC has stepped into the fray with this: the Mono ‘Marine Edition’.

For the most part, it’s all as-per the regular Mono, although it does get a larger 2.5-litre engine, bringing the power from 285 to 305bhp. The real news however, is that this new version features "anti-corrosion components" that are better suited to a life at sea, plus special lifting points on the chassis for hoisting the single-seater beast onto your vessel.

You also get a crane made from carbonfibre (obviously), and an "Environmental Control Container System" with humidity and temperature controls installed in the buyer’s boat.

Predictably, none of this is cheap. In fact, the changes swell the £125,000 price tag of a normal Mono to a rather eye-watering £500,000. Yep, it’s four times as much. Still, this shouldn’t be much of an issue. After all, it’s aimed at people who own yachts worth hundreds of millions of pounds, for whom £500k is a mere drop in the ocean.
