SCT tuning settings

Hi! I just bought this SCT X4 to tune my car but I want to know more about the right settings to get the best out of my mustang. I got an 06 GT wit K&N intake, long tube headers, no cats, 4.10 in the back.

Thanks

Depends on the tunes on the device

I’m gonna list the settings options for the X4:
-Fuel octane: 87, 91, 93
-Fuel injectors: I got stock ones
-Rear 02s off
-Cmcv delete: stock
-Intake airbox: K&N
-Throttle body: stock
-Headers: BBK longtubes (I’m not sure they are bbk but they are long tubes)
-Traction control: normal
-Spark 0-2000: 0 degrees
-Spark 2000-4000: 0 degrees
-Spark 4000-8000: 0 degrees
-Wot Air/Fuel: 2.0% richer
-Axle ratio 4.10
-Tire revs/mile: stock value
-Speed limit: off
-Rev limit Drv: 6475 rpms
-Rev limit neu: 6400rpms
-Idle speed Drv: 740rpms
-Idle speed neu: 740rpms
-Low speed fan: 216 Degs F
-High speed fan: 228 Degs F

Yesterday I tried to do a 0-60 pull and when I floored it in 1st gear the car went into limp mode and limit my power.

If you don’t know anything about retarding the timing and fuel and spark, order an email tune from a company like brenspeed. They’ll send you an email with a bunch of questions about your mods and then they’ll email you a tune to load on your device and then you will load the tune on the car.

Wow… they’ve come a long way haha.

You’ll need to set the sparks, if it’s set like that it thinks there are no plugs maybe?

Idle speed setting seems really low and the fans should kick in at a cooler temp. You want coolant temp to stay no more than 175 ideally, 200 is the red zone, 240 is engine damage.

I may be all kinds of wrong here though, so i’d suggest calling them haha

I feel idle speed is ok. The temp for the fans can be set a bit lower I can set the low one for 180 and the high one for 210

Maybe if I set the spark degrees it might get better, but I’m not sure if I should set them for 2000-4000, 4000-8000 or both

I agree with the top. If you don’t know what you are doing then it’s better to not mess with it and buy an email tune.

I made an investigation to try to understand the settings and it turned to be easier than I expected. I can share the knowledge with you guys. Most of the settings are based in old school tuning, the spark it’s advancing and reducing timing like with the old distributors. The air/fuel ratio at WOT is based on the carburetor tuning from old cars
